Skiing
For alpine skiers and snowboarders, Mt. Bachelor is only 20 minutes away. This 9,000-foot peak gets dryer snow and more sunshine than most Pacific Northwest ski areas. It also has a well-designed collection of high-speed quad chairs that consistently rank among the top five lift systems in the country. From Dilly-Dally Alley to Cirque Bowl and Snap Shot Alley, Mt. Bachelor offers something for every skier in the family.
What Locals Know:
Wind is often a factor on the slopes of Mt. Bachelor. Luckily, it has some of the best tree skiing in the country. After the woods get tracked up, hike up Cinder Cone. It has the perfect pitch and you can always find good, untouched powder, even four or five days after a big dump.
